We drove down to Penzance without incident and logged in the van. Ken started the day's entertainment with a more than adept display of acrobatics outside our lunch stop Then we headed to Lands End, where, after the customary photos and a very nice lady at the hotel reception who signed our chitties, we headed East, eventually arriving at Hayle at 7:15pm. 38 miles altogether, climbing about 2500 feet. After some victuals we headed to bed at 2300 hours.
In September 2011 we cycled from Land's End to John O'Groats for 'Cherished Memories' a charity which supports families with severely disabled and life limited children. Weds 31st August 2011
The day started at 5:15am. I can remember thinking that if I knew someone starting out on the Lands End to John O'Groats run today I would think they were mad!

My last ride in Cornwall
Today's ride was to Lerryn a lovely village at the end of one of the Fowey river's tributaries. But oh - what hills!!! A delight to my legs.

Today's ride
About 18 miles or so today, including some cross country paths with stiles and other obstacles. There were also some long steep Cornish hills! All good training for the ride proper.

Preparation
I cycled 20 miles of Cornwall's hilly roads between Fowey and Polperro yesterday - fantastic scenery and an ideal preparation for our first few days of LEJOG. More miles to come over the next 10 days.
